Go? Or Stay?

Tim: There was this American TV commercial for window shades where an Italian woman throws open the shutters to the morning light and shouts at her partner in bed, "Andiamo!" Guessing that the translation meant something like "let's get moving, now!" on occasion Lois and I have jokingly made it our reminder to get out there and experience the day.

Okay, our prior trip to the European continent was in 1998, and a lot has changed since then. We rarely even travel distances here at home! So why would we go through the hassles of international travel now? We were thinking of all that could go wrong.

November, 2007 – home in Virginia

Tim: Lois, we're not getting any younger.

Lois: That's right. If we keep putting it off, we may never have the opportunity again.

Tim: It will be lots of fun. Let's do it!

So, we signed up for a Rick Steves tour and awaited departure day.
